Las Vegas - Day Three

Day three started going full force!  After only a few hours sleep, I was off again on another first!

Today was that day that I finally got to see Hover Dam and the Grand Canyon!  I have always wanted to see Hover Dam.  It is an amazing engineering wonder.

So just how did we get out to the dam and the canyon?  Well, we were very spoiled by Redpath, one of the major mining contractors for the underground in Indo.  Instead of making the two hour drive out, we took a helicopter!!

We took the front of the chopper because we were all pros at flying in them and a few of the ladies were a bit nervous.

The "back seat".  Couldn't quite get my arm around to take a picture of the fourth gal in the back.  So eight of us total, including the pilot.  We took two choppers of ladies.

Taking off from the LV airport.

Doing our fly by of Hover Dam.  So impressive!!  This is the only thing I would change on the tour is to be able to land and walk around the dam area.

Once we did the fly over of the dam, we flew to the canyon.  Most of these tour companies have a "landing pad" at the bottom of the canyon for the tourists to get out and have a quick look around.  This was the second chopper.

Once we were out of the chopper, we were free to have a look around snap some photos, watch out for snakes, and have some nibbles (a Danella word) and champaign.  :)

The whole crew in front of the chopper I flew in.

The pilots taking a selfie with my phone... They didn't want to be left out...

Serving up the champaign and snacks.

It was a bit bright and a bit warm, but I was LOVING the heat!

After our quick stop, Danella and I went to the back of the chopper so the other ones could experience the front.  They just needed to get used to the idea of flying in a chopper.

Our next stop on the tour was the glass sky bridge.  This was the first group of ladies... They only let so many people on at a time.  Also, there were a few who didn't trust the engineering of the bridge and took a bit of time to get used to the idea of walking out. :)

We were the braver of the souls and kept snapping pictures and enjoying the experience.

Finally we get everyone linked back up and take a nice group picture.  Great group of ladies to spend the day with!

The last part of the tour was a fly-by of the Las Vegas strip.

On the way back, I was sitting in the middle back of the chopper, so I didn't get too many good pictures from that point.  Actually, I was happy to even see it, as in true fashion, I fell asleep for most of the chopper ride back!! :D

Day three ended with a very nice dinner at a Japanese restaurant and watching the show Ka, with a friend Chris worked with 15+ years ago.

Chris and Kevin, AKA "Bird"

A yummy, cool looking appetizer...

And thats it for pictures from that night....  Where is Danella with her camera when I need her?!?!? ;)
