Underwater World

Today, after all the Dr. appointments were finished, we took the kids to Underwater World. We saw a dolphin show, walked in a tunnel surrounded by water and fish, and fed sharks. That is what we are doing in the pictures below the family picture below. A good time! :)

Dinner In Chinatown

Well Chris finally got his way and got to eat some local food! :). Yes, there was a bit of complaining from the peanut gallery, but when all was said and done, everyone found something they liked to eat. The variety of food ranged from pork to prawns to squid! Below Chris is showing all of us how the eating is done! ...We're growing... ;)

Thief!

I should have posted this before the first of the Singapore pictures... but I didn't... so here is the story... Last Christmas, Chris got his Buffalo Bills umbrella stolen. This happens to everyone here at some point! But we are pretty sure Chris and Teddy are the only loser Buffalo Bills fans in Tembag who would have one of these umbrella's! So Friday, while waiting for the chopper, look what shows up... the Buffalo Bills umbrella! So Chris confronts the dude!!   "Uh uh, my "friend" gave it to me..." Riiiight....! So we can't prove that it was Chris' because he didn't have his name written on it. But you how someone acts when they are guilty... Well this dude had that look!
The next day we are at the the airport and look who is in front of us... The dude with the umbrella! But this time he had it wrapped in black plastic! Hmmm, Guilty... I think so!!
Oh well, lesson learned... Don't waste your money on a Buffalo Bills umbrella!! Some loser may want one!

Our New Favorite Game

While I still LOVE volleyball, this has become my new favorite workout! This is Chris and our friend Stu playing. I am taking the day off today because I am in a volleyball tournament. Yesterday I played four games of squash and two, best of three, games of volleyball. I figured I better save my energy for the championship VB game today! :)

Selamat Ulang Tahun Untuk Saya!

For all of you unfamiliar with Bahasa Indonesia that means... Happy Birthday to Me!  Or literally translated "for me"!

What a great birthday week I had!  On my birthday all my lady friends threw me a card party while the kids were at school.  Then that night our family went out to the Lupe for "Hot Stone"!  No, BJ and Brandei, that is not a massage!  "Hot Stone" is where you get a raw piece of meat on a very, very hot stone and you cook it yourself.  The kids LOVE it!

Then Saturday night, Chris had asked a few of our friends over for dinner and another card game with me!  This week reminded me so much of home when our family would always get together for someones birthday or anniversary and then we would play cards.  I loved those time and I truly appreciate the friends that we have here, who have become our family!

And for all of those who have asked me if I had to make my own birthday cake, the answer is NO.  I had FIVE made for me!!  I guess that makes up for all the birthdays that is didn't get one! ;)  My husband and friends are great!! :D

Below are pictures from all my "parties" this last week....

The first two are from the Card Party on my birthday.  I am sorry to say I do not have a picture of the Pavlova (sp?) made for me that day. :(

The next set of pictures are from "Hot Stone" at the Lupe.  The smoke makes the pictures unclear but I thought I would post them anyway. :)

The next two pictures are from the nights entertainment.... Mr. Mick... aka The Gingerbread Man.  What a hoot!  He serenaded me with "Happy Birthday".  Lets just say he had lots of help from "Liquid Courage" that night!  Oh, tooooo funny!! I had tears streaming down my face!  The party in the next room at the Lupe had to stop their karaoke because Mick drowned out their music!!!

The last photos are of my cakes...
The first is from Hot Stone night.
The next is the "Decoration" at the Saturday night's card party.  When I walked out of the bedroom and saw it all I could say is "WOW"!!!!
And now for the edible cake... The cake above was decorated on a Styrofoam mold. :)
What a great week!  Many thanks to all those who pulled off all these parties!  And a huge thanks to Chris for making the week special!! :D
Until next year... one year closer to the BIG 4 OH! ;)

Dinner With Pak Kihar

Last night we had Chris' language partner join us for an all American dinner. Dinner consisted of Johnsonville brats, potato wedges, corn and other veggies. We told Kihar this would be a meal you would have while sitting in a park or fishing on a nice summers day. It was a fun night getting to know Kihar and talking with him about Indonesian and American culture. :)

Quiz Night

Quiz night is a night of fun in Tembagapura for raising money for the MZIS PTA. This year it was decided to split the money with an organization called Village Heartbeat. Village Heartbeat helps the Papuan people in the surrounding area. Last year, because of all the rain, many landslides have taken out the locals crops. Therefore there are many people starving. Village Heartbeat gets food and medical supplies to these people in need. Below are the three "smartest" participants of the night! :D Cheers!
